Many, many thanks for a fabulous 3 day trip last week. We loved it all and will hold those incredible images of the water, landscape and Lake Eyre with great pleasure.
There is an exhibition of John Olsen's Lake Eyre paintings at Metro Gallery in Armadale. Am looking forward to seeing that.
We will be talking enthusiastically about Kirkhope Aviation to our friends.

Thanks for your newsletter. It brought back memories of the fantastic trip to Lake Eyre and Arkaroola in September. I enjoyed it so much. John and I had a wonderful Lake Eyre trip with Kirkhope. I have not had a small plane adventure before, and I really enjoyed it.
Our pilots were professional, warm and caring. They were very astute to our needs, and proactive in attending to our comfort. From her welcoming phone call on Sunday night, to ensuring we did the ridge top tour in Peter's vehicle, we felt we were with friends who were looking after us.
Our delay at Balcanoona was unfortunate, but we had Doug join us for dinner, free drinks, and a ridge top tour in an enclosed vehicle as recompense. We have no complaints.
Many thanks to you, Kirsty and Peter and hopefully we will fly with you again in the future.

Breath of Fresh Eyre….published in Letters…Age Traveller May 21 2011

I recently researched the many options available to fly to lake Eyre. Many tours include substantial road travel and begin in Adelaide. I was fortunate to stumble on Kirkhope Aviation which is based at Moorabbin Airport and has twin engine planes with comfortable window seats.

The three day tour I selected was well organised, flexible and proved an excellent opportunity to see Lake Eyre and to fly over other major water catchment areas with an experienced and knowledgeable pilot. The tour included short four wheel drive trips to the edge of Lake Eyre and into the northern section of the Flinders Ranges. It also included quality accommodation and meals.

We took the advice of a letter by Pam Mathieson (Traveller May 21) and travelled recently with Kirkhope Aviation on a three day trip to Lake Eyre. It was an adventure well beyond our expectations. To our delight, the trip included extras such as Lake Mungo, the Dig Tree and a wonderful four hour ridge top driving tour in the Northern Flinders Ranges…. Well done, Kirkhope

I was one of the passengers who went on the Lake Eyre tour this last weekend with Tony Wood and I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the experience.

It started with a simple idea of "I want to see Lake Eyre with water in it", an internet search and having found you it was all so simple!!
Very well organised, excellent pilot and guide and a lovely group of people to spend a weekend with.
It was disappointing to miss the ridgetop tour in Arkaroola but you can't control the weather and this sort of thing just happens sometimes. The alternative visit to Broken Hill was quickly organised and Milton gave us a wonderful tour of his city - a real local character!

Thank you very much - I am a happy lassie now I can say I've had a beer at the Birdsville pub!
Word is spreading and already today two people from work are rushing home to look you up on the web. Best wishes.

Just wanted to say what an extremely enjoyable trip we had with you this week. The aircraft was a credit to your company, the pilot an extremely professional and very likable individual. Everything we asked of you was met with a level of customer satisfaction not seen in most organisations.

Your new KingAir is certainly a very comfortable and fast method of transport, the extra few dollars for this pressurized machine were well and truly worth it. We will be undertaking these state wide trips a couple of times a year in future, and with staff like your pilot Kirsty there is no reason we would not use you every time.

I have just arrived home after the wonderful Lake Eyre trip which was brilliant in every way. I enjoyed it hugely and learnt an enormous amount. The whole trip was very impressive - well planned and well executed.

We felt privileged to have Tony Wood as our pilot and guide – his skill, knowledge, enthusiasm and unfailing good humour greatly enhanced the trip.

Just wanted to thank you for a wonderful holiday. Our pilot Tony was just brilliant, and although I am a very large person, he never once made me feel awkward or difficult to accommodate, (an experience I have had elsewhere when flying).

The tour was superb, and very well thought out and put together, full of interest and wonder.
We will certainly be recommending Kirkhope to our friends and we hope to fly with you again on another adventure.

It was worth flying from Brisbane to Melbourne to have such a great time.

I thought I would let you know what a fantastic trip it was & I had a great time. The way that the trip is structured shows that a lot of thought & planning has gone into it. The fact that you can pull up at a dirt airstrip in the middle of the outback & there waiting for you is your transport to your next adventure shows an eye for detail.

The accommodation & food were first class & the side trips an extra bonus. The Birdsville Working Museum was a personal highlight. Also the size of the plane & tour group were perfect giving everyone the opportunity to have one on one time with you (the pilot) again a great idea.

3 days is enough time “in the air” for novice plane travellers & the short hops a bonus giving everyone plenty of time on the ground even if it was just for fuel stops.

Again thanks for all your efforts to make the trip enjoyable, professional & fun.

We had a great trip to Lake Eyre etc. Other Tony is a very proficient pilot and tour leader and the plane was very comfortable. The itinerary worked really well and we were blessed with lovely fine weather and smooth flying conditions. The accommodation was better than expected and we saw parts of Australia that we have never seen.

We would recommend the experience to others and a low flying aircraft is definitely the way to go combined with some ground travel.

Re Lake Eyre trip:
Thank you for a very safe and comfortable trip. As I started to say, the landings and take off were great and the locations well chosen and varied.
The trip was so much more than looking at pelicans.

The accommodation and food provided were excellent and the opportunity to spend time with enthusiastic people who live their lives in that beautiful and remote centre of our huge country.

It was a tight schedule, managed with efficiency and quiet authority and I thank you for providing the opportunity for me to indulge in revisiting a favorite part of my world at such a significant time in nature's cycle in Central Australia."
