Gawler Ranges & Kangaroo Island in 4 days
4 Day…Melbourne to Gawler Ranges & Kangaroo Island
Depart Moorabbin in the morning for your 4 day trip to Kangaroo Island and fly via Nhill and Port Pirie for fuel before landing at Wudinna just to the west of the Spencer Gulf /Adelaide. This is a total of 3.5 to 4 hours flying. On arrival we drive 30 minutes across sandy tracks to the remote bush camp of Kangaluna. See http://gawlerrangessafaris.com/ .
This is a comfortable tented camp for approximately 10 people maximum . The tents are situated on high wooden platforms and have two rooms plus an ensuite. They are very comfortable. The dining room looks out over the bush and the meals are magnificent. In the afternoon after lunch we spend time around the local area. The salt lakes and rock formations are stunning.
After a magnificent sunset location for drinks, dinner is served in the dining room and then a “chat” around the campfire. After breakfast in the morning we spend the day driving 2 hours to the north to visit lake Gairdner. The salt is approximately 1 metre thick and is quite safe to walk on. Bring your sun glasses as the brightness of the salt and the colours of the surrounding landscape must not be missed. Lunch is at the Lake then the drive back to Kangaluna is via the picturesque Gawler Ranges.
In the morning of day 3 ,we drive 1 hour down to Streaky Bay on the eyre Peninsula (the aircraft will be relocated there as well) , to go on board a boat to view and swim with sea lions on Baird Bay. Then we return to Streaky Bay airport and depart for Kingscote on Kangaroo Island. We
have the afternoon and the next morning to view the “Remarkable Rocks, Admiralty Arch, kangaroos, seals and koalas on the island. The scenery on Kangaroo Island is great and we are taken on a private tour.

After the touring is finished in the morning of day 4 we drive back along Kangaroo Island to Kingscote and depart for Moorabbin on the 3 hr air charter flight arriving around 6pm…the end of your 4 day trip. 
Flinders Ranges and Gawler Ranges
4 Day…….Melbourne to Flinders Ranges and Gawler Ranges
The first leg of this 4 day air tour is 2.3 hours to Broken Hill for fuel then another 45 minutes onto Balcanoona in the Northern Flinders Ranges. Then we drive 30 minutes north to Arkaroola Resort. After lunch we go on the 4 wheel drive famous Ridge Top tour. This is in open air 4wd vehicles and is absolutely stunning over a severely rugged off road track up and down all the ridges in this interesting geological location. It was the are that Reg Sprigg opened up and had as his mentor Sir Douglas Mawson. On return to the resort we have time for a drink before dinner in the restaurant. Then after dinner a visit to the local observatory to view and learn about the stars. There are 2 observatories here and weather permitting it is a great way to learn about our night sky.
In the morning we drive back to Balcanoona and fly approximately 1.3 hours down to Wudinna via the magnificent salt lake of Lake Gairdner.
