Birdsville Timelapse

In 2016, Kirkhope Aviation hosted more than 30 guests on flights over the city for New Years Eve and the fireworks. It was a stunning platform to see the official midnight fireworks, with displays visible throughout the greater Melbourne area as well as the CBD. The large windows provided panoramic views to our passengers, and our pilots enjoyed the event so much that they’re already talking among themselves about this year’s flight! We’re hosting the event again in 2017,with places available in our Piper Chieftain and Navajo aircraft. Families with children of all ages are welcome on our earlier sessions, with the midnight session restricted to children over 10 years of age.

Midnight Fireworks

Departing at 11:40pm, orbit the Melbourne CBD during the official midnight fireworks. You’ll be treated to the best view in town as you sip champagne and celebrate the beginning of 2018.

9:00pm Dusk City Scenic

Departing at 9:00pm, fly around Port Phillip Bay as Melbourne gets ready for 2018. Arriving at the Melbourne CBD at approximately 9:30pm, you’ll see the curtain raising fireworks before returning to Moorabbin.

7:00pm Evening Scenic

Departing at 7:00pm, our evening scenic flight takes a lap around Port Phillip Bay as the lights get low in the early evening. It’s the perfect start to your New Years Eve.

These flights are conducted at approximately 2,500ft above Melbourne. Fireworks launched as part of the New Years Eve display typically travel 400-500ft upwards, which places us well above even those fireworks launched from buildings in the CBD.

Places are limited on these flights, so call us on 1300 206 130 early to avoid missing out! In 2016 we sold out in the second week of December.
