Lake Eyre flights/tours for 2012
Approximately 35 trips to Lake Eyre were successfully accomplished in 2011. These 3 day tours resulted in extremely satisfied customers ( in fact 4 letters of appreciation published in the Age and Sun newspapers).

The Lake has water in the southern sections only at this stage. Water is coming down the Warburton Groove and Belt Bay is already the same level as this time last year. Madigan’s Gulf on the south eastern corner has in fact more water than this time last year. There has been huge local rain around the Flinders Ranges and so there is also some water in Lake Eyre South and Lake Frome. We are still unsure what amount of water will come down the Diamantina and the Cooper Creek but regardless we are confident the three day trips have such variety that they will continue to be successful .
The price for 2012 tours is $3095 pp….The 3 day charter includes all accommodation, meals, tours and gst. Drinks are extra. Single supplement for $150 is extra if available. The above price is for our Navajo or Chieftain aircraft. The turbine/pressurised Kingair is also available as an option should a group request it however the price would be approximately 30% more. If you are booking , we strongly suggest travel insurance.
The 3 day trip itinerary departs Moorabbin, fly via Broken Hill for fuel and include Innamincka for lunch. Then onto Birdsville via the Coongie Lakes for the first night. On the second day after breakfast 
a stunning low level flight down the Diamantina River, over Lake Eyre and onto Muloorina Station. Lunch at the station and weather/roads permitting a drive to the edge of Lake Eyre. Then a shorter flight after lunch to Arkaroola in the Flinders Ranges. Overnight at Arkaroola with viewing of stars at the observatory and then in the morning the famous 4WD Ridge Top tour before the flight back to Moorabbin/Melbourne arriving around 6pm. Should weather cause an issue at Muloorina we will change it to either a boat ride on the Cooper Creek or a visit to Andamooka opal fields.
Depending on the demand , the below tour dates can be modified to suit the clients and in particular can be adjusted to a 2 day trip if necessary or requested.

Note: the number of passengers on each Lake Eyre charter tour is variable as it will depend on the actual weights.
