Cessna

Cessna 208 Initial Training

Kirkhope Aviation offers Cessna 208 initial training, including both the Gas Turbine Engine design feature endorsement and the C208 Initial Flight Review as required by CASR 61.062. 

The training is delivered under the company’s CASR 141 Flight Training Certificate by experienced C208 pilots who also fly line operations for the company. Flights are conducted on the company’s Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX, which is becoming the more common C208 type among charter operators throughout Australia.

The course is delivered over 5 days, including two full days of ground school and three flights on the aircraft.

Course cost includes:

  • All training materials
  • Ground school
  • Up to three hours dual (on airswitch) on the aircraft
  • Flight Review and GTE Endorsement issue

Where a candidate is unable to meet the Flight Review standard within the included hours, additional dual time is billed at an hourly rate. Most candidates comfortably meet the standard within the allotted hours.

Kirkhope Aviation requires a minimum of the following to complete C208 training:

  • Australian PPL(A), CPL(A) or ATPL(A)
  • MPPC Design Feature Endorsement
  • 200 hours total flight time on aeroplanes
Piper

Piper PA31 Initial Training

Kirkhope Aviation offers Piper PA31 initial training to meet the General Competency requirement of CASR 61.385.

The training is delivered by experienced PA31 pilots who also fly line operations for the company. Flights are conducted on the company’s PA31 Navajo or PA31-350 Chieftain, both of which remain popular with operators throughout Australia.

The course is delivered over 4 days, including a full day of ground school and three flights on the aircraft.

Course cost includes:

  • All training materials
  • Ground school
  • Up to three hours dual (on airswitch) on the aircraft

Kirkhope Aviation requires a minimum of the following to complete PA31 training:

  • Australian PPL(A), CPL(A) or ATPL(A)
  • MPPC Design Feature Endorsement
  • MEA Class Rating
  • 200 hours total flight time on aeroplanes
AASTeam 84

Beechcraft B200 Initial Training

Kirkhope Aviation offers Beechcraft B200 initial training, including both the Gas Turbine Engine and Pressurization design feature endorsements and the BE20 Initial Flight Review as required by CASR 61.062. 

Nick Stobie, our Head of Training and Checking, delivers this training in conjunction with Ansett Aviation Training's B200 Flight Simulator. 

The course is delivered over two weeks, including 3 days of ground school, 5 x 2 hour simulator sessions and two flights on the aircraft.

Course cost includes:

  • All training materials
  • Ground school
  • Up to ten hours simulator time
  • Up to 1.6 hours airswitch on the aircraft

Kirkhope Aviation requires a minimum of the following to complete B200 training:

  • Australian PPL(A), CPL(A) or ATPL(A)
  • MPPC and RU Design Feature Endorsements
  • MEA Class Rating
  • A current Command Instrument Rating
  • 200 hours total flight time on aeroplanes
GWA Flight Sim

Simulator

Kirkhope Aviation operates a CKAS MS3 full motion simulator as a Category B Synthetic Trainer. The simulator can be configured as a Beechcraft B58 Baron or a Beechcraft B350 King Air. The simulator also features a fully functioning Garmin GNS430W and integration with AvPlan on a supplied instructor iPad.


The simulator is available for hire by pilots (under instruction) or by organizations for use in Instrument Proficiency Checks or for general recency and training.
